About the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR
VIRginia International Raceway has hosted professional sports car racing since it opened in 1957. The modern IMSA round carried the Oak Tree Grand Prix name from 2013 and has run as the Michelin GT Challenge since 2016. It is the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship's only GT-only race, contested exclusively by GTD Pro and GTD class GT3 cars with no prototypes entered.
