IMSA sports car racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport) dates to 1975, when Hurley Haywood won the circuit's first Camel GT round in a Porsche Carrera; the track also hosted more Can-Am races than any other venue. The event joined the reunified WeatherTech SportsCar Championship calendar in 2014 and runs to a 2-hour-40-minute format.
