About the Championship 400
Homestead-Miami Speedway has hosted Cup Series racing since 1999 and was the site of NASCAR's season finale and championship race from 2002 through 2019, crowning 18 champions on the 1.5-mile oval. The race moved to a spring date in 2020 when the finale shifted to Phoenix. In May 2025, NASCAR announced Homestead would again host the championship race in 2026 under the sport's new rotating-finale model — its first title race since 2019.
