MotoGP comes back from its summer break at Silverstone this weekend — and it returns to the tightest title fight in years, with five riders covered by just 24 points. Round 12 of 2026 is the restart button on a championship that could go almost any direction.
The season restarts here
The German Grand Prix in mid-July marked the halfway point and the start of the summer break, so the British GP is the first race back — a season restart, with everyone rested and the standings bunched. As at every 2026 round, there's a Sprint on Saturday and the full Grand Prix on Sunday.
The tightest title fight in years
After 11 rounds, the top five are separated by 24 points:

The big storyline of 2026 is Aprilia, which has four riders in the top six, led by championship leader Jorge Martín. But reigning champion Marc Márquez is surging — he won the German GP from pole, leading all 30 laps, to climb to third heading into the break.
