About the Prairie Dirt Classic
First held in 1990 and won that year by Snooky Dehm, the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway has grown into one of dirt Late Model racing's crown jewels and the marquee event at the Illinois quarter-mile billed as "America's Dirt Track." The finale is a 100-lap, $50,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature; the 2026 edition carries a $220,000 total purse. The 2025 running was the event's 35th.
