About the Southern Nationals
The Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals is a mid-summer dirt late model tour founded by racer-promoter Ray Cook in 2005; the 2026 edition is the tour's 22nd, packing 11 races into a July 12-25 swing through the Southeast with more than $310,000 in total purse money. The Bulls Gap stop runs as the Scott Sexton Memorial on Volunteer Speedway's high-banked oval, and with the scheduled Wythe Raceway opener rained out it served as the 2026 tour opener.
