About the Short Track SuperNationals 17
The Short Track SuperNationals, nicknamed the 'Working Man's Race,' began in 2006 at Afton Motorsports Park (then I-88 Speedway) as one of promoter Brett Deyo's first major events, and has also been held at Five Mile Point, Thunder Mountain and Utica-Rome over the years. The event is famous for its parity: 15 different drivers have won its first 16 editions, with Matt Sheppard (2019, 2024) the only repeat winner. Cody Higbie led all 50 laps to win SuperNationals 16 at Afton in 2025.

About Afton Motorsports Park
Afton Motorsports Park is a three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval located on the Afton Fairgrounds in Afton, New York. The site was originally built for horse racing in the early 1900s, and weekly stock car racing was introduced in 1991.
It has previously operated under names including I-88 Speedway and Afton Raceway Park.
