Talladega's fall Xfinity Series race was created in 2020 as a replacement round during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Justin Haley won it to sweep both Talladega races that season. After sitting out 2023, the event returned in 2024 as a playoff race, and The Progress Group became its entitlement sponsor for 2026.
