About the Japanese Grand Prix
The Japanese motorcycle Grand Prix was first held in 1963 at Suzuka and has also been staged at Fuji Speedway. It moved permanently to Motegi from 2004, after Daijiro Kato's fatal accident at Suzuka in 2003 prompted safety concerns about that circuit. The Honda-owned Mobility Resort Motegi is a home race for Japan's manufacturers and is contracted to host the Grand Prix through at least 2030.

About Motegi
Mobility Resort Motegi (formerly Twin Ring Motegi) in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, opened in 1997 and features a 4.801 km road course alongside a 2.493 km oval. It hosts the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix.
In 2008, Danica Patrick won on the Motegi oval, the first IndyCar win by a woman.
