The Qatar Grand Prix was first held in 2021 at the Lusail International Circuit as a late calendar addition, and after skipping 2022 for the FIFA World Cup it returned in 2023 on a long-term deal. It is run entirely under floodlights on the fast, flowing former MotoGP venue outside Doha.
